We invite book chapter proposals for the forthcoming edited volume titled “A UX Research Casebook: Summative Case Studies to Influence Product Strategy”, edited by Carolyn Pang and Serena Hillman.
The Focus
Much of the current literature emphasizes conducting research correctly, yet applying these learnings can prove challenging due to the predominantly organizational nature of the obstacles. These case studies will delve into not just the research but organizational challenges and proposed strategies for overcoming them.
The Gap
This book addresses a gap in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) educational resources by focusing on the practical application of summative UX outcome-based methods. Drawing inspiration from law casebooks, it presents a curated collection of case studies from experienced User Experience Researchers (UXRs), showcasing detailed examples of these methods in action. Each case study is chosen for its adaptability, impact on product development, and emphasis on summative UX metrics, offering authentic learning experiences that engage readers deeply by connecting theory to real-world contexts.
Themes
Chapters will address the following sub-themes (but are not limited to) the following areas:
